First Christmas Onboard
Karen:
Still anchored in Fernandina Beach - with no way to get to shore.
Our first Christmas onboard - a very simple affair. We were so busy packing and leaving that ‘Santa’ didn’t have any time to shop - had planned to do that last minute in Florida. Thankfully our family had planned ahead and put some gifts for the kids into our boxes, that could be placed under the paper tree that Flo made for us. We also had a snow globe that Home Depot were giving out as a craft for kids.
Christian made us Avocado Toast. We called home and had lovely facetimes with our families and friends. The kids were thrilled with their gifts. Michael tried to paddleboard to shore but it was too choppy. I baked some shortbread and made us a feast of chicken casserole with rice for dinner. We played a lot of mario cart and hung out in our pyjamas all day. My PJs were actually made by my own hands in highschool and were a gift to my Dad, who wore them religiously every year. I’ll be carrying that tradition on.
Merry Christmas!!
