Sunday Funday
Florence:
In the morning on Sundays I usually wake up around 7:00-8:00 am and I am super excited to go to new Amsterdam!!! But I first go to my parents room to say good morning to my dad. It’s usually only my dad and brother who are awake but sometimes my mom is, most of the time I sleep in pretty late but sometimes, only sometimes I am awake earlier than my brother, but only ever my brother not my dad. My dad and brother are early birds and me and my mom are night owls. Anyways that’s enough talk about sleep, but as I was saying I wake up and jump on my iPad after I say good morning to people, sometimes I am way to hungry to wait until my mom makes breakfast bowls or pancakes ooh it’s making me hungry now! So I just grab a handful of cornflakes or a bowl without milk. Then I go to my room and just watch shows or play games until I get too hot and go change into my swimsuit and clothes, then I hop back onto my iPad and play more games then like a few hours later I go leave and ask my mom to make breakfast usually she says yes but sometimes I have to give her my puppy dog eyes and a cuddle but I do convince her then I jump back on my iPad and either call my friends back home or take silly selfies most of the time my iPad dies and I have to plug it in but sometimes not, when it dies I usually go into the bathroom brush my main of hair and rinse my face when I come out my mom usually says breakfast is ready but if not then I just help her. Then we eat and get ready do some last minute things and leave.
Both me and my brother love to drive the dingy so it’s a competition on who can drive it. Sometimes he wins but most of the time it’s me who gets to drive. It’s about a 2-3 minute drive to the government dock and once we get there we tie on, we usually have garbage with us, so that’s why I love driving the most because then I don’t have to take the garbage to the garbage pile. Then we have to walk about a 10-20 minute walk to a dirt road that leads us to the entrance of new Amsterdam!!!
In new Amsterdam there is food, drinks, ice cream, a pool, tons of places to sit, dogs, cats, a zip line and even a trampoline! There’s also poker and pool (the game). Most of the time my friends are there, and they are in the pool so I jump in and join them but some times they aren’t there and I just get a Coca-Cola but either way I get a Coca-Cola as one of the things I do there. It is also so fun to see people just keep coming in like every 10 seconds, more and more people show up. My favourite pizzas there are taco,pepperoni, and shawarma the pizza there is gourmet and so is the ice cream!!
They also do this thing called ‘the companion 4’. It’s basically a theatre show with the three mice and an act and a few people playing music. My dad is one of the People that plays in the show it’s super fun also they have different food like schnitzel or like a curry thing they are both really good though, but the companion only happens 3 times a year so we were lucky to be here for it, but it’s also nice that Sunday funday is only one day a week because then we always have something to look forward to.
